The birth of a soccer mom
Here is my little big girl on Monday April 2nd, 2012
She walked onto the field, explored the artificial turf and grew at least two inches taller when I put her new jersey on and the head coach handed her her very first soccer ball. Her first concern was how come there is no number on her jersey. I explained that this is a training one, that when she joins the team for regular season she will play games and have a jersey with a number on it.
Her second concern was… I want to win
Well she is our daughter after all, so our challenge will be to steer this determination and put it into use in a good way. Good luck to us
Sara was shy for the first half of the practice, but after she was running like a wind making sure to be first everywhere :)))) we have a funny video to prove that, will it go do in history? Who knows, it would be great if she is really good in something, but if I can choose to have a famous child or a happy one, I will always choose happy.
I haven’t seen her this happy for a long time, she was chatting in the car and when I told her that I will sign her up for the summer camp as well so she can play games in the fall she could just jump out of the car seat. Talking about the car seat, it’s so strange to see your child to go from a baby to first soccer practice where she can follow the coach and run faster than the five year olds in her group ( she is definitely the tiniest one in her group and I suspect she is the youngest one as well). She walked onto the field and I only saw this tiny baby of mine in the huge jersey. She walked off as a child, confident and happy. She opened the car door, took off her cleats and climbed into her car seat. Suddenly the was a big girl sitting in this baby car seat and I was hit with the thought of “oh my four years later is now”. I must say I love the fours, Sara has grown into this joke maker who is always on the go, singing funny songs.
